Outfit post?

I don't usually do these, partly because I'm one of those people with a uniform. But what the hell, here's the B uniform.

Button up shirt +a-line skirt.

Trend Watch

Sometimes I go to shows just to watch the crowd. Tonight it was also about supporting friends, but really it was about the clothes.

We were at YO! MTL Raps. which is a hilarious name for a monthly event, and a pretty fun thingy.

oh and the next big thing? House of Pain.

the girls were a mixed bag, with short shorts jumpsuits and shaved sides being the only trendy trends representing.

The rain might hinder todays plans

I have two teaser items from my next collection ready for some happy snaps. but the weather today is so rainy and dark, that I think they're going to be delayed. I've gone back to ideas that have influenced me a lot over time. The idea of geometric forms, and static.

Canoe Labrador with Elizabeth Penashue

This isn't fashion or design related. This has to do with Canada, and the balance between modern living and our native people. Elizabeth Penashue is an Innu Elder and native rights activist in Labrador. I grew up hearing stories about her and her family, and I'm sad that due to my education and career commitments I have yet to have the pleasure of meeting her. I can say that to canoe the Churchill river with her and her family would be epic.

The yearly walk, my dad is in there.

Dad chilling in the tent, this photo is from late September 2007.

Also from late September 2007, my family and Elizabeth, in the woods.

Backyard Bill

Style blog that takes it's time.

Mini editorials with cool people in their own clothes. In what looks like their own environments. It's a wonderful idea, and it's executed with style.

Anyway, I though it was neat.

quick on my heels

I might be doing neck pieces for fall/winter afterall. I have a ton of crystal beads that I had bought to do some crazy white bead embroidery, and a bunch of left over white silk. Snow queeeeeeeeeeeeeeeennnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn etc.

Kortune Fookie!!!

There's a giant Fortune Cookie lurking in my neighborhood (On Fairmount, south side just east of Park in case you were wondering).

At you can particpate by adding your own fortune. When users go to the GIANT wooden cookie and press the shiny button

crazy music plays, and your user generated fortune appears printed on a piece of receipt paper.

My fortune tells me not to worry, I'll find my soul mate in the year 2020, my lucky year.

I couldn't find any pictures of this particular installation, partly cause it's early and I don't feel like searching flickr. This is just one more reason to love Montreal in the summer.

Bad weekend.

But good results.

sort of.

I'm continuing to have camera troubles, and it's coming at a time that's actually ok. but still not great. I was hoping to enter a piece I made in a contest, but due to technically crappiness that's just not going to happen. Anyway I have a photobooth picture of me squeezed into it.

I'm just going to post to this as the work evolves.

the colour is loading wrong, but as this is a work in progress, I'm not going to fix it until the end. that orange should be navy. it's inverting for some reason.

Loveyourchaos Tumblr

I stumbled upon a genius Tumblr feed today. The kind of page after page assault of a strong aesthetic sense tied in with a couple long running themes; little birds, tea, film cameras, typography, interior decoration, whimsy, and of course fashion. The following images were found on loveyourchaos. really worth a browse.

Logotypse Project

The wonderful Tomas Seo is doing a twitter/vimeo powered free Logo/wordmark project this summer. He's asking people to tweet him @seoism a brief for a logo. The brief must: (taken from his website)

• The brief must be submitted in one single tweet.
• The tweet must start with the word Brief: and include the hash-tag #logotypse (so I can find them)
• The brief must contain a reference to a character in a film or tv-series that personifies your brand.

After you tweet I will select one brief per day, design a logo and publish the result on the website. The file containing the logotype will be publicly available for download free of charge. You can use it or change it however you like, and that’s it. What you will see is what you will get.

As an example this was my tweet

Brief:I'd love a logotype for my womens wear label called Sarah Claire, inspired by Lola in Run Lola Run #logotypse

And the following video is what happened! He's about of a third of the way through the logos now, and he's still taking new briefs. Follow him on twitter to keep updated, or keep an eye out on

Some times Montreal kicks ass.

A friend of a friend is finally mounting his Big Ass Cabaret show in Montreal. Hosted by none other than Irina Lazareanu, and held at the interstice Aug 3,4, and 5th.

This is going to be huge.

The following excerpt is taken from Facebook

come inside jonathan sévigny’s cardboard storybook theatre, where 18th century music, sung by soprano ariane girard, comes to life with couture dresses and edgy choreography from andrew tay, dana michel, mélissa raymond and sasha kleinplatz. supermodel irina lazareanu is the evening’s host, offering her own musical and spoken word performances. featuring the music of clérambault, couperin, lully, de visée and schürmer/lazareanu, with additional performances by indie-folk artist david simard, dj dirty dan, and surprise guests.

Getting back into Illustrating my clothes

I need a lot more practice.

New direction

I'm starting to work on my second collection and new ideas and images are starting to get pasted up on my walls.

Color by COLOURlovers

I think this one is going to be pretty well planned out, so I'm interested in seeing how it all turns out.
