It's serious business time. Fall has become serious indie music festival time up here in the north north east. There's Pop Montreal, CMJ, and my personal favourite Halifax Pop Explosion.
I'm going to be all around Pop Montreal, and I'll be volunteering at the symposium. IT starts tomorrow! and there's just soooo much going on. Totally excited. I'll post some highlights once I have a better idea what I'm going to see.

This week is all about illustration. I need to put together a portfolio, and there are a lot of gaps in my illustration work.
On that note I was sent a link to this insanity yeterday
This dude has done a whole series of HeMan characters in contemporary clothes. I'm sure he can get a job at American Apparel doing creative. Cause this is just silly pants.

She makes insane futuristic constructed knitwear. Her spring 09 collection was featured in a slew of editorials this year, and has set her up for a break through.
A lot of her pieces in her new collection are heavily conceptual, but I found the following looks had something to offer a more everyday consumer.
But nothing here was as wonderful as spring 09.
New York is Over, and the glitterati and friends are over in London, before they head off to Milan and then Paris.
I've been busy, and haven't been through every single show so far, but I totally loved Francisco Costa's show for Calvin Klein Collection, but I always love what he does.
This is for Spring 2010, and these are all the sort of loose easy pieces that can be worn with flip flops and still look luxurious.
It's minimal without being black.
and without being minimal for that matter.

Which on it's talent page doesn't even have a portforlio of models. It has a little slide show of editioral pages, and covers of magazines that you've never heard of.
And it has This as a Plus size Model.
If I were to guess measurements, 38, 30, 38ishhh. She could be a 37 on top. She could be smaller or larger on the bottom. That pose is a good one to make you look curvier.
That's not plus size.
That's a hot chick.
And I understand That a regular model is itty bitty. Like itty bitty.
but a size 8 is not plus size.

Casshern is a japanese film made in 2004.
Haven't seen it.
But damn these are some beautiful stills.
I'm a sucker for great art direction, in part because that's what good fashion styling/design is. Art direction for life. when someone thinks of all the details, and gets it all cohesive and enveloping it's just wonderful.
I think I'm going to hunt this baby down.

The wool blend version of this baby has been fairly popular over there on the etsy.
It is a limited edition; as I bought the last of the fabric from my dealer last week. So if you want one you'll have to act fast.
Cause who doesn't want a sweater vest with a hood?
yes I know this whole act fast, act now, thing is old hat hard sell tactics, and usually BS. but I really did sell way more than I was expecting to last week, and I can only make about 6 or 7 more. ever. I also know that people LOVE this thing, so they'll be all jealous and stuff. promise.

Ok so I was out at the orange couch yestereve (Divan Orange), and couldn't help notice but the cool new haircut was no haircut at all. Basically self-cut bangs are about all us 20 something music lovers can afford right now.
The above picture was found on flickr and dates from this spring. It features a Chelsae haircut. I saw that baby on the street at the time, and I swear it's the first ironic chelsae, ever. prove me wrong.
Things in work land are good. Lots of grey and black. lots of knits. I have some pretty swanky stuff on the back burner, but we'll see how that plays out.
My no haircut and myself are going to go over to the newly reopened Casa del Popolo tonight. My neighborhood cafe/bar finally has it's liqueur license back and I am a happy camper.

I bought a bunch of silver lame, and was totally lost with what to do with it.
Lost but now found.
Will be up on etsy by the end of the day, if all goes well.
House stuff has been keeping me busy and business has picked up (thank you!!!), which means blogging has been less of a priority.
The sweater vest hoodie is selling really well, and is of limited quantity. So if you want one, I would jump on it. If you mention the blog in the comments to seller you get free shipping to Canada or the US on any orders over 50$. (I'll refund you through paypal). It's a true story.
