So I needed someone to build me a laser projector...

to project a starfield.

And um The Internet is magic. As soon as you think of something it's already being mass produced and sold on ebay.

To be fair this doesn't look like it actually uses laser light, so I still need one of those (I'm thinking some sort of modified starfield through to Gibsonian Matrix style animation in green laser superimposed on the white light starfield. sexy). but really. This is a piece of brilliance for 12$ including shipping.

My build budget has just been significantly decreased.

woot.

(oh I'm talking about my fringe production for this June's Montreal Fringe Festival. It shall kick ass.).

Last minute gift idea...

Butoh Swimsuit Calendar

The solution to my quest for the perfect blend of reality with the sublime.

There's something brewing

And it involves a lot of rhinestones.

I've been using Tumblr as an easy image/style research portal. It's also cheaper than buying 8 million magazines. Which is what I usually do. You can look through hundreds of images in a short period of time that have been curated by an individual (or a group of individuals) with a specific taste. You can easily glean out trends, and ideas that are leaning towards trends, as well as just get wowed by wonderful images over and over again.

I'm loving Rhinestones right now. I've seen some trim up in the garment district that's a row of set stones, but it's 4$ a meter, and that's too expensive. I will continue to investigate the sparkle, and we'll see what happens.

All images taken from Tumblr.

Head in the Clouds

or really above the clouds.

I'm writing a space opera for the 2010 Montreal Fringe Festival.

I'm in, I was accepted and now a show!

I've been watching videos of shuttle launches for inspiration. I love the idea of what music makes sense for the mystery of space. This video has a really happy nerd doing play by play on the shuttle launch (official NASA play by play) with some soft quiet intense orchestral stuff in the background.

Anyway.

SPACE.
